Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved significantly over time, becoming an integral part of modern life. However, the Malaysian legislation has yet to be updated to align with its evolution which raises concerns on whether the laws are adequate in addressing the disputes or claims relating to the AI application. Therefore, this article will look into three aspects, encompassing the copyright issues of the AI-generated work, the privacy invasion issues, and unauthorised use of imagery in visual deception using deepfake technologies. As AI-generated content challenges traditional copyright principles, questions arise regarding authorship, ownership, and liability. Similarly, privacy concerns grow as AI tools process vast amounts of personal data, often without explicit consent, raising issues under data protection laws. Additionally, the rise of deepfake technology has introduced serious threats to identity
security, reputational harm, and misinformation, highlighting the need for stricter regulatory oversight.
