SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN ONLINE SOCIETY VIOLATES THE HUMAN RIGHTS: THE ROLE OF ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT BILL 2021
Abstract
Sexual harassment nowadays not only happened physically but also online. People tend to look at online sexual harassment as a matter that should be passed. However, online sexual harassment also is of violation of human rights as it could lead to traumatic events and distress. Still, the problem that arises within our society, they hardly recognise the offence of sexual harassment happening to them and how far the existed law could protect online sexual harassment victims. This study aims to figure out the role of Anti Sexual Harassment Bill 2021. Thus, this article discussed the role of Anti Sexual Harassment law to protect human rights. Anti Sexual Harassment Bill is a supplement to the existed law regarding sexual harassment. It also functions as another way to protect human rights and equality. Anti Sexual Harassment Bill introduces adequate sexual harassment standards. Articles and research were being reviewed in this paper to see how important the role of the Bill is in order to protect online sexual harassment victims. Last but not least, the Bill defines the standard of sexual harassment in our society. The paper concludes by highlighting the significant role of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Bill 2021 in protecting human rights.
